The objective of the present work was to study the effect of solar radiation and LED light on the concentration of bioactive compounds in nasturtium, punctually and over time. It was carried out 4 study, the first experiment characterized quantitatively and qualitatively the flowers of nasturtiumcultivated in full sun and under shading of 50%. The compounds identified and quantified were; anthocyanins, carotenoids, phenolics and antioxidant capacity. The red flowers obtained higher content of total anthocyanins and total phenolics. The yellow flowers showed larger tors of total carotenoids. The shaded cultivation had a negative influence on total anthocyanins and positively on total carotenoids for red flowers. For the yellow flowers the shading positively influenced anthocyanin and total carotenoid contents. The type of cultivation did not affect the profiles of qualitative compounds produced. Seventeen types of flavonols and anthocyanins were identified, 5 of which were not reported (delphinidin-3- (6 "hexoside) -hexoside, quercetin acetyl di hexoside, quercetin hexoside, isorhamnetin hexoside and isorhamnetin acetyl hexoside) for both open-air culture and shaded The second experiment aimed to investigate the impact of drying time and different temperatures as pre-treatment for anthocyanins and phenolics extraction as well as antioxidant capacity of orange capuchin flowers. Process temperatures were 40 ° C, 50 ° C, 60 ° C and 70 ° C. Drying presented a positive effect as a pretreatment in the extraction of anthocyanins and total phenolics. The last 2 experiments were performed with red, blue and red + blue LED lights as photosynthetic radiation in red, orange and yellow flowers of nasturtium. The results of LED lights were increased biosynthesis of total anthocyanins in red flowers regardless of the colors of the lights. The red LED light was the one that presented a greater effective productivity of the majority pigments in the capuchin flowers, regardless of the color of the flowers. Total anthocyanins showed a positive correlation with total phenolics and antioxidant capacity analyzes for extracts of phenolic compounds. The lutein content presented negative correlation with total anthocyanins and total phenolics and a positive correlation with the antioxidant capacity of extracts for carotenoids. The red LED light showed a greater effect on the effective production of total anthocyanins and lutein, regardless of the color of the flowers, and thus, the one that presented the best response to capuchin flowers for a culture time of 60 days. The increase of total anthocyanins synthesis causes a decrease in the lutein synthesis indicated by the negative correlation. However the blue LED light increased the synthesis of total anthocyanins to red and orange flowers after 75 days of cultivation. The yellow flowers supplemented with LED light showed higher levels of lutein and the red and orange flowers showed no significant difference irrespective of irradiation quality.
