This work aimed to study the vegetative propagation of the West Indian Cherry for cuttings, using cuttings of different branch positions, propagated under three different nursery conditions. Three experiments were conducted: intermittent mist, micro-spray under full sun and shading conditions. The cuttings were taken from plants at the orchard of the Fruicture Universidade Federal de Viçosa Sector of Federal University of Vicosa UFV. The tests were evaluated 45, 66 and 87 days after planting. The following characteristics were analyzed: root dry mass weight, number of roots per cutting, medium root length per cutting and percentage of rooted cuttings. The evaluation of leaf fall and sprouting percentage was also carried out. Treatments consisted of herbaceous, softwood and semi-hardwood cuttings during the three dates of evaluation and under three nursery conditions: intermittent mist, micro-spray under full sun and shading. The experimental design was entirely randomized in a 3 x 3 x 3 factorial experiment with six replications and twelve cuttings per replication. Results showed that the leaf fall percentage of was higher under full sun and shading conditions than in intermittent mist during the three evaluation times; the highest sprouting rates were Observed under intermittent mist at all evaluated times; the nurseries under shading conditions and micro-spray in the full sun presented the lowest percentage of rooted cuttings; the highest percentage of rooted cuttings (75.0%) was found in softwood cuttings, 87 days after planting, followed by herbaceous cuttings (66.7%), at 66 and 87 days, both under intermittent mist. However, softwood cuttings,45 days after planting obtained 62.5% of rooted cuttings, showing the need of less time to root for this type of cutting.
