This thesis was elaborated based on two experiments with crossbreed and/or zebu heifers on Brachiaria decumbens pastures with relationship to the performance of growing and nutritional parameters. The objective of the Experiment 1 was to evaluate the effects of multiple supplements formulated with different proteins sources at the performance of growing heifers and nutritional parameters on pasture of Brachiaria decumbens Stapf, in rainy season. Twenty crossbred yearling heifers (ten crossbreed heifers and ten zebu heifers), with age and initial weights of 14,5 months and 234 kg, respectively, were used in the evaluation of the performance. The experiment used complete casually design with five treatments and four repetitions. The treatments were supplements based on soybean meal (FS), cottonseed meal with 38% crude protein (CP) (FA38), corn gluten meal with 60% CP (GM), wheat meal + urea (FT); and as control, mineral mix (MM). The supplied daily about 180g of CP/animal/day, being 0,450, 0,550, 0,350 and 0,450 kg/animal/day, respectively, for treatment FS, FA38, GM and FT. The animals were weighted monthly and rotated in the paddocks. The forage selected by the animals was evaluated by esophageal extrusa samples and presented average contents of 9,51 and 40,46% of dry matter (DM) for CP and acid detergent fiber (ADF), respectively. The animals supplemented with FT showed a average daily gain (ADG) signifcantily higher (P<0,10) in relation to the animals received mineral mix (MM) (0,839 X 0,666kg/day). Five Holstein-zebu steers with initial weight of 300 kg, and fistulated in the esophagus and rumen, were used to evaluate the nutritional parameters. These animals were grazing in five paddocks of 0.3 hectare each. The experiment was carried out in four experimental periods of 14 days, being analyzed by a 4 x 5 incomplete Latin square, with four periods and five treatments. The inclusion of the protein sources in the supplements did effect (P<0,05) only the intake of CP and non-fibrous (NFC) carbohydrates in relation to MM. The intake of CP was superior in treatment of FA38 in relation to FT and to MM. There was no effect of supplementation under the intake of viiiDM from pasture. There were no effects of the treatments (P>0,05) on the total and partial digestibility of the DM, organic matter (OM), CP, ether extract (EE) , total carbohydrates (TCHO), neutral detergent fiber (NDF) and non-fibrous (NFC) carbohydrates. There were no effect from the treatments (P>0,05) on pH, but all were within the favorable limits of digestion of forage. The level of ruminal ammonia nitrogen (RAN) had no effect from the protein sources (P>0,05), but the concentration of ruminated N-NH3 was numerical bigger to FT treatment, because it had a bigger content of urea (10%) in relation to other treatments. The average value of the observed total digestible nutrients (TDNobs) for the diets consumed by the animals was approximately 13,8% bigger than average value of the estimated total digestible nutrients (TDNest). There were no effect from the treatments (P>0,05) on the fluxes of microbial protein and it’s efficiency, being on average 31,37 g Nmic/RDOM, 29,56 g Nmic/kg RDTCHO and 9,96 g CPmic/ 100g TDN. Also there were no effect (P>0,05) of N-urea concentration in plasma and in the excretion of N in the urine for treatments; being on average 12,78 mg/dL and 63,14 g/day, respectively. In the Experiment 2 the objective was to evaluate the effects of multiple supplements formulated with differents proteins sources at the performance of growing heifers on pasture of Brachiaria decumbens Stapf, in rainy-dry season. Twenty crossbred yearling heifers (the same ones described in the Experiment 1), wich age and initial weights of 17 months and 297 kg, respectively, were used in the evaluation of the performance. The experiment used complete casually design. The treatments were supplements based on soybean meal and mineral mix (FS), cottonseed meal (38% CP) and mineral mix (FA38), corn gluten meal (60% CP) and mineral mix (GM), wheat meal, corn gluten meal (23% CP), urea and mineral mix (FT); and as control, mineral mix (MM). The supplied daily about 200g of CP/animal/day, being 0,500; 0,600; 0,400 and 0,500 kg/animal/day, respectively, for treatment FS, FA38, GM and FTR. The animals were weighted monthly and rotated in the paddocks. The forage selected by the animals was evaluated by hand-plucked samples and presented average contents of 8,51 and 54,48% of dry matter (DM) for CP and acid detergent fiber (ADF), respectively. The supplementation doesn’t have any effects in the animal’s performance (P<0,10), as well as significant difference between the protein source.
